The new collection is to be launched for the Glasgow Art Fair...
'The power of colour harmony evokes an inner peace'
Stephanie’s work is the product of a continuous exploration of the physicality of painting where she endeavours to evoke an overall reaction to the senses, with the use of gestural strokes of colour.
Nature has had a profound influence on her work and is represented through shape and pattern. Stephanie interprets natural forms in a unique way by considering them as simple separate elements of colour and line, rather than the realistic images of leaves of petals.
Her work is not about pure representation of an object, but the artist’s own vision of each form. The thickness or the thinness of the brushstroke contributes to how Stephanie expresses an emotion about a given subject, and that is what keeps her constantly excited about painting. Movement reveals layers of colour, of emotion and of elements of natural forms. Stephanie takes on ‘reality’, and fuses it with her own concept of the natural world.
The contemporary painter was born in rural Suffolk. She has always been inspired by nature and the changing seasons. That influence is present in her current work.
She trained at the University of Hertfordshire and the University College Suffolk, and was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree with honors in art and design. Stephanie now has her own studio based in Essex, where she works in acrylic on canvas. She has exhibited in London, throughout East Anglia and her work has gone as far afield as Australia.
She has exhibited in London, throughout East Anglia, and has work in private collections in Australia and USA.
