KITTY GUTHRIE OAKLEY

Kitty Guthrie Oakley is a resident artist at interior angle art design gallery, in Chelmsford.

Kitty Guthrie, artist, has exhibited art work with the interior angle art design gallery, since date selling original art (and now introducing limited edition prints.)

Kitty Guthrie is one of a collection of Chelmsford's independent artists that are on display at interior angle art design gallery, Chelmsford, Essex.

Kitty’s work is about visual storytelling, human nature and the judgments we make about each other. She works from imagination using themes from English popular culture, such as early folk tales and songs, children’s stories and nursery rhymes, and historical events and characters.

Kitty has a BA in illustration from Brighton University, and an MA in illustration from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. She is very involved with art education locally and continues to work as a tutor alongside developing her artistic practise.

Originally from Surrey, Kitty has lived in Italy, France, Scotland and Brighton. Moving to Essex in late 2005, where she likes it very much.

This year, by invitation, her work was shown in an exhibition of children’s book illustration at Paju Book City in Korea. Kitty exhibit regularly with the Inky Crows – an illustrators’ collective – and has participated in the Chelmsford Arts Trail.
