Local artists snapped up by local gallery Interior Angle whilst participating in the Chelmsford Arts Trail 2009 and other local arts activities, have been selected by the gallery to be taken to on an international expedition to showcase their work at the renowned New York Affordable Art Fair, with a visit to The Glasgow Art Fair on the way!

The Gallery will take with them a portfolio of 14 independent established and local emerging artists, all of whom will gain international exposure with the support of Interior Angle Art Design Gallery.

Elliott Wilson, Sandy Sykes, Gordon Scammell, Karen Jones, Dom Pattinson, Lynne Timmington, Stephanie Stow, Lydia Hardwick and sculptor Paul Richardson will join established street artist Tom Lewis and legend Photographer Phillip Townsend amongst others in an eclectic collective showcase.

Interior Angle Art Design Gallery is one of only a select number of galleries to have been selected to showcase work at the New York Affordable Art Fair in May and the prestigious Glasgow Art Fair in March.

Based in Wells Street, in the West End of Chelmsford, Interior Angle has been exhibiting the works of artists for 16 years and prides itself in supporting local emerging artists to establish successful careers and raise the profile of the visual arts in the East. Proprietor and art enthusiast Soo Turner works tirelessly with her team to create a unique collection exhibiting an eclectic mix of innovative art that is affordable and dedicated to contemporary design.

Interior Angle is moving quickly to establish a national reputation as the launch pad for Essex and Suffolk based artists to showcase their work at top art fairs worldwide: “Dom, a relatively unknown local genius from the Essex/Suffolk border, was a best -selling artist in London for us last year. That was a clear indication that we should be striving to ensure people are aware of the richness to be found in the East. We are proud to be representing local artists and will continue to do so for 2010. With so many new local artists coming on board and exhibiting with the gallery, we are pleased to collaborate with them to build up Chelmsford as a key destination for art lovers to visit. ”

Already taking the Chelmsford Arts Trail to new heights, the gallery will continue to support local arts initiatives alongside their international developments by offering one local artist a chance to accompany them to an art fair and is also sponsoring a recent local graduate artist to accompany them to the Glasgow Art Fair.
