Tamara English is a new artist at Turner Barnes Gallery, in Chelmsford.
A collection of original art by artist, Tamara English is now available at Turner Barnes Gallery, Chelmsford, Essex.
Artist, Tamara English grew up in Connecticut & Berlin. Tamara English is now living and working in Portland, Oregon.
The central concern of Tamara English’s work is the movement of the unseen energies informing the physical world. Tamara English’s paintings integrate the visual vocabularies of quantum physics, Persian tile-work, European illuminated manuscripts, and abstracted forms derived from the natural world.
In particular Tamara English’s work references the rhythm and movement of the decorative elements found in mosques, Turkish dervish lodges, and medieval European sacred texts. The work arises from a fascination with the intersection of verticality and the horizontal, or the meeting place of the infinite and the linear.
Tamara English’s oil paintings focus on the personal experience of what has sacred meaning beyond religion, the idea of inner atmosphere and how individuals experience the world.
Turner Barnes gallery, Chelmsford, Essex will be exhibiting a collection of work by artist Tamara English at the Battersea Park, London Affordable Art Fair between the 20 - 23rd October 2011.
