The new collection is to be launched for the Glasgow Art Fair...
'Elements'
Lynne Timmington reflects many themes in her work with an overriding dedication to the natural world: the mystery of landscape and the ethereal nature of its changing interaction with the elements. Changing moods expressed by carefully selected atmospheric colour schemes and textures support the artist’s interests in the study of nature.
The present style has evolved over the years; a starting point of references to Photo-realism progressed to nurture a looser semi abstract style. Minimal contact but maximum content is achieved through a stunning colour palette and carefully composed scenic depictions.
Lynne started to paint and draw at a very early age. She was dissuaded from going to Art College by her father who thought it an insecure career. He encouraged her to opt for teacher training. However, alongside her teaching career she continued to paint and the gained many accolades along way.
Lynne lives in Essex but takes her inspiration from her knowledge of Mediterranean and Tropical coastlines. Lynne has now gained enough recognition to be able to paint full time. She uses oil on canvas to create a fabulous series of seascapes, skylines, beaches and water paintings, which usually explore the different affects light has on water.
Lynne has won numerous awards and has had very successful one-woman shows in such notable establishments as the Knapp Gallery in Regents Park and the Barbican.
Lynne Timmington currently has pieces on display with Loft-Living, Selfridges, London as part of the Interior Angle Art Collection and will be exhibiting at the Glasgow Art fair in 2010.
